Looking from the outside in!

This week we could only look inside through the windows, truly is at lock up stage!  So the photos aren’t great this time.  The plastering has now finished, the patchwork done ready for a coat of paint.

Also one of the Hebel pillars at the front has been replaced, as it wasn’t sitting right, and Dean called to say he wasn’t happy either, so it was replaced.

We have also had the first layer of render put on the outside, what do you think?!?! We are not happy with the look so will be taking that up with them this week. It looks to patchy and inconsistent. Rendering in the rain is not the ideal situation one would think!

The weather here has turned really wintery this week, cold, and wet and very windy, so we are glad the work is now inside and progress can be made.

  1. How wierd is lock up stage?? Progress is great, but ya just wanna get in and see it!!

Easier said than done, but try not to freak out too much about the render. Our first coat looked like a blind elephant had done it, but the final coat has come up a treat (except for under the garage down pipe).

Your SS sounds like he's all over it, having the pillar re-done like that. Hopefully you can keep him and have a terrific build.

  3. I can imagine how frustrating it will be for me to get to that stage because that's when things start getting interesting with kitchens, bathrooms and paint maybe a window may be accidentally left open to enable access????

Your build is going ahead in leaps and bounds, lots happening around our area EH!
