It's nearly time!

We know it has been a long time between blogs however we have had a crazy couple of weeks! Not that, this is an excuse! So what’s happening....
Presentation Day came and went, there are a couple of small adjustments, paint touch ups needing to be made and the small task of fixing the back wall of the garage as it has been slightly bowed by the electrical team accessing the kitchen. So this has slowed a little as we need this finish before being issued with the final invoice. By all accounts today it is on schedule and we are expecting the final invoice within the next 48 to 72 hours. So once we have that it will then be down to the bank completing their process and we are there...trying not to get too excited as we don’t think we can quite contain ourselves.
The driveway drama is what it is. With the driveway actually missing from the contract completely we are lucky we even got one! So now the colour is the colour and we will move in and then work out if we paint or leave as is. Must admit it is growing on us a little but nothing that some paint can’t fix up.
The other exciting progress has been that all ordered shutters and roman blinds have been delivered and installed. We are so glad they have made it in before we arrive just to give it that more finished feeling. We only have two windows without coverings now and after visiting late today we should have gone with our original thoughts so will be ordering those blinds later this week.
We don’t have too many pictures today as we were not expecting to be down at the house so we have taken a few happy snaps from our phones!

  1. We were wondering what had happened to you guys!!!! Better to get things fixed before handover even though it's so frustrating and you just want to get in!!!! You are lucky that they have let you get blinds installed before handover, I am still in the process of getting quotes you are so organized. Will keep a look out for you moving in. Well done, a pretty trouble free build.

  2. Almost residents... Exciting!

The electricians bowed the wall? Are we talking frame, plaster or hebel?

As for the driveway, the estate guidelines suggest that plain (looked non-coloured to me) concrete is not allowed... I think your remaining options are painted, pebble-mix, or stencilled. Having said that, the same guidelines state the driveway has to be in before occupancy - which half of the estate has ignored, so I doubt anyone is going to complain.

So jealous of the window coverings - I think ours are going to take awhile... not even any quotes yet 8-)

  7. Windows covered already? That's organisational brilliance right there.
Least you've got a driveway so the move wont get too muddy.
Can you believe it's almost moving time??????
